Instead of You

by B.

Always there for one another.

Born a day apart from each other,

A thousand steps. A block away.

A bond stronger than anyone can say.

We were nothing alike. Yet, when we were together,

We were two peas in a pod. At six, we pinky swore

We’d have each other’s back. No matter what.

Life went on, and thirty years later. Continue reading

Letter to the Sheriff

By B.

People think we are just wicked and mean,

But we are desperate.

We have never seen anything come our way.

People think we are lazy and we cannot shoulder hard work,

Nor long cold hours staring at a moving screen.

Clearly they have never planned a coup.

I have been sitting by this house for days,

Trying to establish a pattern, a routine of some kind,

Grand Theft Stiletto

By Garry Vakarian

The night was clear and quiet. For once, the town looked like a ghost town and not a zombie mayhem. Graham and Annabelle traveled on the main street half asleep on the back of their centaur mounts. They had been searching for Rufus for two days already. Since they were prompt to succumb to bloodrage, the more violent they got the more their cognitive abilities got drained in the process. In the end, most of them became mindless animals and were used in the netherworld as beasts of burdens. Continue reading

Continue reading
